Hi Ben, great comments. Friends (www.friendswhostutter.org) offers one day workshops at least 6 times a year, in places like North Carolina, Iowa, New York, etc. Visit the website for more information. There is also an annual conference held in a different city each year. Friends offers scholarship assistance to those who might find it prohibitive to attend from rural areas. Friends also has a unique teen mentoring program, where teens from anywhere can be paired up with another teen or young adult who stutters. They each commit to communicating throughout the year via email, phone, chat or skype. As for your questions about skype, did yo know that you can do a conference call on skype with up to 25 people? Granted, that would be a lot of people to have a phone conversation with, but it would be good for maybe 4-6 teens who live far from each other to stay connected. When you use skype with more than 2 people, you can't use web cam, so you can't see each other, but they can still communicate, and if the call is to talk and hear other people who stutter, then that is very possible using skype. Good luck on your career path. It will be an incredible journey, I am sure! ~Pam
