Barbara, I have been using a distance model of treatment for several years now and really prefer to go this route. You do a nice job of outlining the issues. The convenience of such an approach is tremendous as you point out. The main issue that I am concerned about has to do with state license regulations. Obviously, I do not wish to violate the laws of another state but the added problems (cost, time, etc.) of obtaining a license for every state in which you treat people can become prohibitive. There are so few specialists in stuttering that we need to use every avenue possible to reach as many people as possible regardless of where they live. Thank you again for your excellent article.
