The idea of treatment via the web is an excellent idea since it benefits both individuals involved (clinician and client). Although as a starting clinician, I would be scared to miss disfluencies and/or physical concomitants with my lack of experience. However, if music teachers can perform lessons on Skype, why can't we do speech therapy? It seems as though that your therapy focuses on fluency shaping more so then stuttering modification. Please correct me if I am wrong. Do you believe that the emotional component of stuttering should be analyzed first prior to beginning rigorous treatment? Of course therapy is individualized, but have you ever focused on the client's acceptance of his or her stuttering? Would you say that is appropriate to do via the internet? Thank you!
