Hi Stacey, You wrote: “A major turning point for me was when I stopped concerning myself with what people thought of me.” Sadly, one of our worst failings is our preoccupation with the thoughts of others. Approval and acceptance has become a dominant feature in the lives of many. During recent years, I have lived my life according to the adage, “What other people think of my stuttering is none of my business. If they have a problem with the way in which I speak, I consider it to be their problem, not mine”. It is their prerogative to think whatever they wish; it is my prerogative to ignore their thoughts. I am no longer concerned about being judged – it is so liberating! What others say about you is merely their opinion – it may not even have any foundation. What you feel about yourself is much more important – it has a far greater impact upon you than the comments of others. Keep enjoying the rainbow that has now settled over Seattle. :-) Kindest regards Alan
