Hi Dick, I certainly agree about involving parents and problem solving procedures. Whatever treatment we use we must individualize it to make it work for each parent/ child and we do this by taking account of a range of factors and working around anything that might get in the way of a good outcome. I often think that one of the things that those of use who work with stuttering children and adults share is a pleasure in problem solving. We like the individuality and the fact that we need to think and feel on our feet. Helping parents and clients also take pleasure in problem solving is one of the ways we can facilitate good long-term outcomes. On the other matter I will certainly forward ‘your best’ to your friend though I am not sure you would recognize him now that he is over 6 foot tall and maybe not quite as cute as he was when you met.
