Ed, you and I agree that a "toxic" environment will not HELP a child. What I need to know in order to understand your point better is: What do you mean by toxic (what behaviors, specifically)? Do you think that these are generally seen in parents of CWS? What I have gotten from your earlier posts is a wide variety of behaviors that you feel are bad, but some are not documented to be present very often, or impact fluency, at least in published research. So I'd want to know which behaviors concern you. Parent counseling is best when we understand specific behaviors that should change because the change would measurably impact the child. I would never do generic counseling of this sort. So that's why I ask you if you think that MOST parents are a concern for you, or only some sporadic cases? Nan
