Hi Sharon, I apologize for my late response but unexpected family events have kept me away from my computer for a few days. I have worked with children whose parents stutter and it has nearly always worked well. It’s difficult to know what children think and it is unlikely that they would verbalise the thoughts that you suggest. In my experience, parents who stutter have an extra awareness and sensitivity that can be very helpful in treatment and the knowledge that they can help their child live without some of the problems that they experienced gives them a sense of achievement. Sometimes they even find that they manage their own stuttering more effectively, so they both learn from the process of doing LP. Best wishes.
