Hi Tracy, Yes expectations are interesting- aim too high and we may suffer disappointment etc., aim to low and our self-limiting expectations may mean we never reach our potential, and then, too high and too low are not fixed entities but vary along with all sorts of other factors. I agree that long days in daycare are more difficult to deal with but we have to try and work with the situation that the parents are in and so do the best we can, working out, case by case the most productive way forward. If parents are not ‘on board’ we have to try and understand why, this may lead to better communication but if not then sadly you can’t force someone to work co-operatively- a paradox? Best wishes
