Hi Erin, I’m glad you read Miller and Guitar’s paper. The two day course run by members of the Lidcombe Program Trainers’ Consortium is the best way to learn how to use the program. I always suggest that clinicians, after attending a course, try to use the program first with children who do not have other communication problems and who have parents who are able to understand the treatment and are spending at least some of each day with their children. We can’t always choose but I think using the program successfully and relatively quickly with a few children helps the clinician get a really firm idea of how it should work. This helps us identify problems early on with less straightforward cases and also to pick up some of the things that are not going quite right. I was lucky with my first few cases they did really well and that gave me a solid bases upon which to work with more challenging children /parents. I have contact with many SLTs who use the LP in the UK and many have had success with their first few cases so I think the training course really does prepare clinicians to use the program. There is also the LP book and other references listed on the ASRC website. Best wishes
