Hi Jim, .... That is certainly true for me! Never in a million years did I think I could ever do effective public speaking. .... But actually it goes much farther than just stuttering. I've had several instances that a person has been inspired by me (totally unintentionally of course!). Once was by a girl who spoke Spanish and had slow language translation problems. I have the note she wrote me hanging on my wall to this day. Another time a guy in Toastmasters who I had never met credited me with bringing him out of his shell. "If you can face your fears, so can I!" Still another time I worked with a group of Chinese people at TI who were scared to death to speak up in an English dominated society. (The parallels to stuttering are amazing!) Today they are one of the leading clubs in all of Toastmasters. And the leader of that group still calls me "Coach" to this day! As Lee Reeves says, "You never know who you touch." How true! .... See you in Ft. Worth next summer! .... Russ
