Thanks for the congrats, Cassie! 1. I didn't go for speech therapy as a child/in school because I don't think it was offered through the school/health system at that time/place (1970's remote/outport Fogo Island, Newfoundland). If in fact it was available, no one (family, school, etc) mentioned it to me as an option. From my family's(mom's) perspective, I'm pretty sure there was an element of shame involved. I don't blame her...it was a different time/place. The only time I remember a medical practitioner talking to me about stuttering was in elementary school....a psychiatrist or psychologist suggested that the best thing for me to do was to be quiet:) 2. I have a story line for a second book about stuttering & bullying that I hope to turn into a book in 2011. I have a few other story ideas that hopefully will be books in the next few years.
