Very insightful! I could not believe that about Gadsby…no letter “e”, no past-tense verbs, and no use of “the”! I will definitely have to check that out! I really learned a lot from this article and appreciated the way you illustrated that even if an individual does not stutter, by avoiding a sound for a certain amount of time, he/she can understand a taste of an avoidance behavior that an individual uses. It also became clearer when you described the issue as “mental gymnastics.” I enjoyed this article very much!
