Glad you tried the experiment, Colleen. Yes, it is appropriate to have family members gain an insight into avoidance behaviors, and also in the struggle it is to try to converse doing something that is very difficult - be it avoiding an /r/ sound or stuttering. Another earlier comment related how Barry Guitar uses a similiar idea with family members. Judy
