For years I have been using bibliotherapy during my therapy sessions, as I didn't know the "formal" name. It is a very useful therapy especially for stutters and older stutters (9 years of age and older) who can read. Normally, I use fictional poetry or a book of their choice, not so much to focus on confidence or self-help concepts as you presented in the article, but more so as a visual for breathing exercises and for carry over into conversational speech with hopes to reduce the stuttered moments. If a therapist has to fulfill a dual session, such as therapy and language, then following the steps outlined in the article is a great way to complete both therapies at the same time. However, if stuttering is the only focus then, the process may seem unnecessary. I really appreciate your input and providing the name to the type of therapy I incorporate. jb
