I am guessing that there are published accounts of such activities, but I'm not familiar with them from off the top of my head. I'm also sure there are clinicians who do book-based activities in learning disabilities settings regularly too. Back when I worked in a school setting, I would routinely use children's books as a context for language-based goals with children who had learning disabilities. There are many, many books that are well suited for such activities (e.g, books that featured patterned syntax, books that highlight certain morphological forms, or verb structures).
