You are correct that articulation and language problems sometimes co-occur with stuttering. As I recall, none of the fiction books we reviewed get into that issue. Usually, the character has stuttering and that's it for communication problems. As I think we mentioned in our article, though, most of the characters in these books are dealing with some other significant life challenge (e.g., the loss or separation from a care-giver), so stuttering is but one of the issues that the character faces. Children's literature can be used a tool in intervention activities that target articulation and language problems (if you read through my previous posts in this thread, I believe I mentioned that to someone else.)
