Hi Tim, thanks for the detailed yet easy to read article. The meaning i attach has been very relevant to my speech especially when saying i am a social work student. The combination of the S sound and the judgement of being a social worker causes a build up of tension really fast. My question is being self aware of this i at the moment before i speak try to do an easy onset, or light contacts and of course i still speak with more tension than i would like. Is it possible that i am attaching meaning to easy onset or other techniques with the intension of helping me to speak more easily, and this is in fact having the opposite of telling me subconsciously not to stutter? If so what would be a better approach? thanks
