If what a person hold’s in mind about stuttering affects their intentions, would you recommend that parents of pre-schoolers directly talk to their child about the different ways in which stuttering can be viewed (even before negative social interactions such as teasing begins) in a proactive attempt to discourage the establishing of non-beneficial meanings in association with “disfluency,” or would that be analogous to sowing a seed during the wrong season?
