You mentioned that once a child starts to be teased and see their stuttering as something negative, they should see a speech therapist who specializes in fluency and also have support with families and teachers. If the child is being seen by a school SLP, would you suggest that the SLP talk openly about the stuttering even before the teasing and negative emotions become evident? How young is too young to talk about how they (and others) perceive the stuttering?
