How do you discuss potential teasing before it happens? Very carefully. Refrain from planting a seed that it will definitely happen or you could create fear. A metaphor is the safest when you know the symptoms are so severe that teasing is imminent: tell a story of another pws and how they handled it. As a clinician you are an authority figure who can set 'meaning frames'- what stuttering means and doesn't mean. Always respect that position of influence. Parents should also think that way.
