Certainly there's a correlation. Many people who stutter are unwilling to go public and advocate for themselves by writing a letter to the editor or calling a TV station. For reasons I do not understand, most SLPs appear to be just as reticent. When there is a portrayal of stuttering that is inaccurate, the NSA usually is alone in protesting.
