When most groups are portrayed unfairly in the media -- teachers, gun owners, etc. -- editors and producers get dozens of angry letters. (Imagine the outcry if a TV show insulted a disabled person or a child with autism.) When stuttering gets a bad rap there's a letter from the NSA, but most PWS are reluctant to go public. What I don't understand is why SLPs so rarely advocate for their clients.
