Good paper Jim. I remember receiving a phone call from a reporter who was doing a story on a psychologist who reportedly cured stuttering in one 1-hour session. I explained that it doesn't work that way, that the cause is unknown but undoubtedly complex, because of its complexity, treatment is a gradual process, different people respond differently to the various therapies, etc. As I was speaking, I realized how much less media-friendly my opinion was in comparison to a quick & definitive cure.
