Thank you so much for sharing this article. You provide many wonderful ideas and strategies for improving fluency beyond the therapy room!! My question is this: Do you feel that increasing fluency is main tool for desensitization in the teens you have worked with? I am a graduate student and am still learning about all of this. It seems there is a big debate on the word "fluency" in general and while helping a person learn techniques to decrease stuttering is important, so is the ability to learn how to gain some sort of self-acceptance. What would say is your main goal of therapy? Additionally, it seems as though many therapists are advocating the approach of cognitive behavioral therapy. Are you a fan of this and do you feel this would assist as an additional component to the strategies you write about? Thank you again for the information. Best, Kayla
