Exactly Karen, There is no shame at all in having a disability or stuttering (or both ). You are so correct about “It is what we do with our abilities that matter”. We hamper ourselves sometimes way too much. It is up to PWS to push stuttering into a serious public focus and I think this can only occur with aligning to the disability movement. Only then will the general public, policy makers and governments start to truly take notice and direct their attention our ways. It is also up to PWS to take a stand and present role models to the world that proudly stutter. People will not understand the cause by publically watching and hearing PWS who do not stutter.
