Hello Karen, Thanks for your input. Yes the term “disability” itself is a huge barrier for some individuals to cross and accept. I can give you a little result from my study so far. Some students who stutter actually wanted help to manage their stuttering and academic performance at university yet simply did approach the disability units on campus based on the fact that they did not think that stuttering was regarded as a “disability”. The naming of the unit/section itself deterred them from even asking for help.
