I really enjoyed this article, and I want to thank you both for your positive outlook on claiming the word disability. I have worked closely with advocacy organizations representing different minority groups in the United States(specifically the LGBT community and people with developmental disabilities) who have used words that carry negative connotations like "queer" and "disabled" to create individual and community esteem. I am excited to learn that the words "stutter" and "disability" are being used as tools for empowerment in Australia.
