This was a very interesting read and a real eye opener to how people who stutter define their stuttering. I would have never guessed that many people who stutter do not view their stuttering as a disability. Now that I am aware of this information, it may be a good idea to ask my future clients if they view their stuttering as a disability or not. In therapy, it could be beneficial to explain to clients not to be embarrassed by the term disability and to be aware that everyone is disabled at one point in their lives. Would you recommend that this is information that an SLP should learn about their clients?
