Hi Grant. I really enjoyed reading your article. I think you brought up some really fascinating points about disability as it relates to stuttering. I'm currently in grad school and just began providing therapy to a school aged girl who stutters. So far we've centered her therapy around utilizing fluency shaping techniques and increasing stuttering awareness. We haven't yet talked about the disability aspect of stuttering, and quite honestly as a person who doesn't stutter discussing this aspect hadn't yet occured to me. Do you have any suggestions about how to address this issue with someone who is only 10 years old or is this something that she will eventually develop her own opinion about without my assistance?
