Being proud of what you have done. Being proud of various parts of your personality... YES. Self-esteem is an over-rated but very useful thing. But, to me, it makes to sense to say "I am proud of my disability". One can accept it, learn to see that there are sometimes positive aspects or consequences of having a disability. But it is a really, really big leap to then say :I am proud of having this disability. that is the key point I guess: accepting/not letting it stop you is different from being proud of it. We all have parts of us that we simply accept/tolerate/try to improve. Having self-esteem (or accepting ourselves) does NOT mean being "proud" of all parts of ourselves.
