Hello and thanks for the feedback. I tend to think along your lines about changing terms to perhaps help solve a problem. For example does a disability unit on campus have to include “disability” in its name? Could we change it to something else more invitational and inviting? The question is what? Or can we still keep using disability but publicise its definition and bounds more openly? You have really got me thinking … thank you. I think it would be hard to globally eradicate the word “disability” because of its frequency of use and placement in cultures and legislation. It would be easier to begin with to educate about the meaning.
