I appreciate your comment, "I propose that you should take pride in tha fact that at times you are disabled..." I never thought of myself as having a "disability," but in reality we all do. In American societies, and others I'm sure, we are label driven. As human nature, we like to label and categorize. This is unfortunate because there are often stereotypes or "characteristics" we think of with each label. I think we should embrace our differences (which some may view as disabilities)and learn from each other. After reading your article I feel I have a deeper understanding on how stuttering can affect a person's daily life (e.g., "..creates obstacles for me...," or "I may have some anxiety..."). As I stated earlier, we can all learn from each other if we embrace our differences and communicate. I have learned something new from Grant, and likewise I could teach others by talking about my life and my obstacles. Thank you Grant, I appreciate your thoughts and ideas presented in your discussion.
