Hello Jacci, I would say there would be very many people at university with you right now who are unaware that perhaps their associated disability (or such like) units can offer them help for certain issues and problems. I am also sure that some of them would be avoiding the avenue of help due a lot to “disability” being included. I can think of example I have seen on my own campus where a student suffering from depression suffered for a whole semester not asking for assistance because they did not think the disability unit covered that issue. Disability services need to really promote heavily what they cover and should be really upfront defining disability to the university as a whole and the fact that it can be transitional.
