Hi Pam and Christine, I would give anything to turn the clock back and be a fly on the wall when you two feisty women met at the BSA self-help group in a London pub. It must have been quite an encounter. :-) No, seriously, it was great that Pam plucked up the courage to venture into uncharted waters and cross the Atlantic to meet total strangers. I did something similar in 2000 when I travelled in the opposite direction to fly to San Francisco. On that occasion, I spent nearly six weeks perambulating extensively in Northern California and Nevada, knocking on the doors of television studios, radio stations and newspaper offices to talk about stuttering. It really was an incredible experience. When we overcome hurdles, it opens our eyes to possibilities that we could never have imagined. When we are stretched by a new experience, we likewise grow as human beings. Like the turtle, you can only move forward when you stick your neck out. The only limitations are those that we impose upon ourselves. Two final comments: PAM – please let me know should you ever return to the UK. CHRISTINE: The dance that we shared at the World Congress in Fremantle in 2004 has secured a place in Australian folklore. :-) Kindest regards to you both Alan
