Alan, thanks for the very nice remarks. It was a great meet-up, and I am still glad I had the nerve to do this. Life is very much about taking chances, and when we do, our life is enriched. I remember so clearly our trek through London at night, in the rain, to find this pub, The Wenlock Arms. I was very nervous, especially when we found it, it was not what I was expecting for a stuttering support meeting. But, meeting Christine and Liz and others, it was such a memorable experience. As was what happened when we left.A few from the BSA group offered to walk us visitors back to The Tube stop. Which was relieving, as it was after 9pm then and we were just relying on a map. Less than a block away, this bloke ran up to us, and said, "Excuse me, aren't you the foreigners who just left a meeting at The Wenlock Arms?" (We weren't sure what to say, like who was this guy?) He goes on to say, "I just want to offer you a big English apology. All English are not that rude. You are clearly visitors and no one from the pub acknowledged you or thanked you for visiting. That was terribly rude. Please accept this apology from me on behalf of England. Have a safe journey back and visit us again if you are ever back here." . . . . I think I will always remember that as well. If I get to the UK again, Alan, which I believe I will, I will be sure to let you know. Although I don't know how to get a hold of you after ISAD!
