Hi Cassie! Thanks for the comments and question. I hope you can take the time to listen to one of the podcast episodes. What I mean by saying women who stutter aren't often invited to tell their stories is this: most pws depicted in the media are male. There are very few role models for women and young girls who stutter. Most movie portrayals of pws are male, and they are not realistically depicted. And because many women who stutter have never met another woman who stutters (like me, 4 years ago), hearing other women who sound like we do is very, very empowering. It decreases the sense of isolation and makes us realize that other women have the same feelings about stuttering.
