Hi Olivia! Thank-you for the comments and the good questions! I have found it to be a very challenging process for a variety of reasons. It is difficult to find professional SLPs in Mexico and persons who stutter (PWS) who are interested in giving up their time in a project that may take years to create. I had the opportunity to interview a few stuttering associations via email and they commented that it took them between 2 to 5 years to create a well-organized stuttering association. It is definitely a long process, but worth it at the end. The people involved in the project are mostly in Mexico but I have received good feedback and support from a clinical supervisor here at WSU who also stutters and from a professor. More PWS in Mexico are becoming interested in the project so hopefully the interest will last a long time!
