Shery, First let me say congrats on being a parent and being a great advocate for your children! Something I always tell parents of children who stutter that they are a wonderful support system for their kids. If I could give some simple piece of advice or thoughts to parents? Well, it would be this: Accept your children for all they are AND have compassion for yourself. If you can accept them (all of their good qualities and the qualities that are challenging) and accept yourself with compassion and kindness, you can't go wrong. Again, those are just thoughts I have gathered from studying a lot psychology and counseling techniques for all kinds of people and being a therapist for several years. Thank you for your comments and questions. Please feel free to ask more and again, thank you for being a caring parent! Scott
