Briana, I have to assume you are the same Briana I know (since I don't think there are many Briana Roots in this world, which makes you unique!!!) I wanted to say thanks for your compliment about the article. It is funny, I don't think any psychologist have read this article yet and I was wondering what they might think about Jaime and myself taking the term "chronic sorrow" and applying it to stuttering... Chronic sorrow is something that we all deal with, with any loss we experience, so we were hoping that even if people don't stutter or know people who stutter, they could relate with the idea of being stuck in sadness, guilt, shame, and fears as they are reactions to deeper thoughts, messy thoughts which are hard to dig down and sit with..However, I am preaching to an expert in clinical psychology so I digress...Anyway, I hope you are well Briana! You bring a truly wonderful gift to the world of psychology and to the people you touch on this earth, a truly wonderful gift of compassion and kindness...Scott
