I would first like to thank you for sharing this very emotional and what I would have believed to be, private story. For in my immedidate family, we only had one PWS (my little brother, now 19) and he has learned what techniques and situations allow him to be more fluent. However I must admit I as well as my mother are guilty of the "stop that's" and "slow-downs". I never once considered how it was making him feel or how it was affecting him. As I stated in the subject line, I will share this article because I personally never thought that having a disfluent child could develop chronic sorrow and I'm eager to see what take my mom will have on this condition and any feelings she or he may be harboring. Once again thanks for the opportunity as I am a first year grad student and eager to share everything I learn about stuttering and PWS with my family.
