Thank you! I am currently a first year graduate student at the University of WI – Stevens Point. I am in a counseling class that has covered counseling theories such as humanistic therapy, existential therapy, cognitive therapy, etc. We have also covered empathy, questioning techniques, and feedback. I have been amazed at how important counseling is to our field. I have been able to relate counseling techniques to almost every class I have taken thus far and your article shows how counseling is important to our client’s families as well. Are there any techniques you have found especially useful to reach parents who might be in a state of chronic sorrow?
