Many stutterers will say that in groups, they are the ones chosen to represent the group's work or summary, etc., and they wonder 'why in the world choose me when YOU don't stutter?'! I've tuned in to public speaking skills and stuttering and find the approach to be very enlightening and very helpful to the stutterer..... it's all about 'them'(the listener) feeling ,hearing your message. It is NOT about 'you'. I'm sure it is not an unusual approach but likely not put in terms of public speaking (taking the emphasis off the stuttering). Any thoughts?
