Peter, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your article! I had not really thought about the ambiguity of the term fluency until reading this, but you make a solid point. It would be misleading and confusing to tell clients that they will become fluent after therapy, when really the focus should be on improving their speech. How would you suggest reframing a client's perspective on attaining fluent speech towards one which involves speaking with more ease?
