You ask, “How would you suggest reframing a client's perspective on attaining fluent speech towards one which involves speaking with more ease?” Not any easy or quick question to answer. In general, one place to start is by listening to the client and valuing what he or she says (see David Luterman’s work) and by talking openly about stuttering, therapy, goals, experiences, etc.
