Dorv, thanks for writing. Your Successful Stuttering Management Program (SSMP) has had a significant influence on me and it is a pleasure to read your kind words. Unfortunately, if we were able to eliminate the word “fluency” from the profession my guess is that it would be replaced by some other fuzzy language such as “controlled speech”, “managed speech”, etc. But I appreciate you saying that my paper is a good start!
