Alan, always great to hear from you. I am glad you brought up avoidance strategies. One of the reasons I wrote the paper is because the term “fluency” is sometimes used as an avoidance by people who stutter and professionals. A person who stutters may want to talk about fluency to avoid talking about stuttering. In my experience, many professionals will do the same.
