We know that we need to assess all the languages the client regularly uses in daily life. I recommend a "full" set of tasks in both languages: some spontaneous conversation, a monologue, some reading aloud and also -- if possible -- telephone calls. It is not always possible to do all of these tasks, but every effort should be made. Sometimes this means finding a colleague or volunteer to analyse the speech samples in a language the SLP does not speak.
