I had a client who was a French major and as of the end of his jr. year in college never stuttered in French but was a moderate stutterer in English. He went abroad to immerse himself in French and slowly stuttering entered his French. Could it be that his French had reached that "hard wiring" level of having 'learned' French and, as with English, that is when the stuttering began? This postulation of mirror neurons and the hard wired neurons is posed by Kalinowski in his book. I'm wondering what you think.
