Hello, I am a first year Graduate student in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I really enjoyed this article because treatment and assessment of bilingual individuals is very interesting to me. I understand from reading the article and other comments that assessment and treatment should be done in both languages of the bilingual individual. My question is have there been any know cases where an individual that stutters in L1 but does not stutter in L2? Is this a issue that clinicians should be concerned about when approached with a bilingual or multilingual client, if so how would this then effect treatment?
