After reading this article I became very curious about the statistics of bilingual stuttering. I did find the article: UCL Survey of Bilingualism and Stuttering (2000) by Au-Yeung, Howell, Davis, Charles and Sackin. They gathered their data by having people fill out a survey. This is a good way to gather information, but not idealistic. What this study does show, however, is that there is a need to have more research done in this area. If the information they concluded from their study could be confirmed by a large scale, more scientifically driven study it could potentially change what we think about bilingual stuttering. I agree that in order to conduct a study on a large scale, across the world there needs to be a standardized way of evaluating. Thank you for sharing this wonderful information!
